I'm 99% more likely to respond positively if your first line isn't "smiles"...or "hi"...or "how r u"....or "waves".... I beg you: No Miss, Ma'am, Ms., Mrs., etc. Just call me by my name. That's plenty respectful. Don't ask if I'm "busy" if I'm just standing here. I'll let you know if there's an issue. Try just talking. It's not my fault if you're incapable of maintaining an actual conversation. Instead of getting mad at me...do better. 🤷
