SL Book is an unofficial, community-driven directory for Second Life avatars. It lets you discover residents, browse profiles, vote in Hot-or-Not comparisons, and track ELO rankings.

No. SL Book is a independent hobby project and is not affiliated with Linden Research, Inc. or Second Life in any way.

Yes, SL Book is completely free. There are no subscription fees or hidden costs.

Profiles & Residents

Register an account and link your Second Life avatar name. The verification process happens in-world via a simple object script.

Yes. Once your avatar is linked, you can upload a custom profile picture from your dashboard or profile settings page.

Contact us at admin@sl-book.com with your avatar name and we will remove your data promptly.

Rankings & ELO

The ELO system is borrowed from chess. Every time two avatars are compared in a Hot-or-Not vote, the winner gains ELO points and the loser loses points. The amount exchanged depends on the relative difference between their current scores.

Monthly ELO snapshots are taken at the end of each calendar month. The ranking resets for the new month while the all-time ranking is cumulative.

Privacy & Data

SL Book stores your Second Life avatar name, publicly available profile data fetched from the Second Life API, and any content you voluntarily submit (profile pictures, notes). See our Privacy Policy for details.

Yes. Send a request to admin@sl-book.com and we will delete all stored data associated with your avatar within 30 days.
