~Happiness is a fresh cup of coffee in the early morning glow, steaming and made just how you like it. In that mug your best friend got you for your birthday, the one that feels like the potter spun that clay just for you. ~Happiness is clean sheets. Soft against your skin. Caressing your every imperfection. Fresh like the early spring air. ~Happiness is lunch with an old friend. Sharing giggles and sorrows and that story about the silly dog you saw in the park last week. You haven't spoken for years, but the passersby would guess you do this every week. ~Happiness is a tank full of gas. A rent check delivered on time. A jar of quarters for the laundry. A crinkly paper bag of groceries. ~Happiness is the satisfaction of a job well done. A drive to work with the windows down and that Doobie Brothers song you love.
