I step in close to the coffee machine, my breath steady as I study every line and curve of its surface. My fingers drift across the buttons in a slow glide, tracing the edges like Iâm learning them by touch alone. The machine gives a soft hum beneath my hand, a warm vibration that travels up my fingertips. I press the brew button with deliberate slowness, listening as the machine wakesâwhirring, sighing, releasing a low, rising sound that fills the quiet space while the first drops begin to fall. I stay close as the cup fills, listening to every drip, every shift in the machineâs tone. The scent of fresh coffee rises slowly, warm and rich, curling upward like itâs reaching for me. When the last drop falls, I wrap my fingers around the cup, feeling the heat seep into my palms. Finally.

My passion for new technology led me to discover Second Life many years ago. Since then, I've had an incredible time building objects, writing scripts, and creating animations. However, what I've treasured most is the connections I've made with people. For nearly a decade, real life took precedence over Second Life, but I made my return during the COVID pandemic. The virtual world felt more familiar than the real one, and sometimes it still does.
